Ewa Szmidt – Belcarz
Ewa Szmidt – Belcarz is the CEO of Empik Group, one of the strongest Polish consumer and retail brands. The Group’s portfolio includes the largest specialty retail chain in Poland and one of the top polish ecommerce platform Empik, digital content production and distribution platforms EmpikGo, Empik Music, Virtualo and eMuzyka, event discovery and ticketing business Going and Empik Bilety as well as several other distribution and retail companies.
Before joining Empik Group in2015 , Ewa was the first female global partner in the history of Polish McKinsey office and led Retail and Consumer Goods practice. She had successfully advised many global and local companies in strategy development, operational efficiency improvement and sales optimization. Prior to McKinsey, Ewa worked in blue chip FMCG companies (Cadbury, Schwarzkopf&Henkel and L’Oreal) in various brand management position across Europe.
Ewa Szmidt – Belcarz has a dual master’s degree in the Faculty of Management School of Economics in Warsaw and the CEMS Master in International Management from the Warsaw School of Economics and the London School of Economics, as well as an MBA from the INSEAD in France.
