Future of Energy: Navigating the path Beyond Scarcity. Dr. Carlo van de Weijer

Universal access to green affordable energy is one of humanity’s greatest challenges. The stakes are high – the future of life on our planet. But how should business navigate this? How should they strike the right balance between bold innovation and practical solutions? Dr. Carlo van de Weijer will explore these questions in his keynote at the upcoming Masters & Robots 2025. Join us on 21st October at Warsaw’s Multikino Złote Tarasy.

The Future of Energy and Transport

The road to a clean-energy world is far from smooth. Among the toughest challenges are the development of new, efficient technologies for energy storage and distribution. Add to this the limited availability of critical resources, political deadlock, and weak support systems for innovation. How do we keep moving forward despite these obstacles? How can we navigate energy policy and implement new solutions?

Dr. Carlo van de Weijer will address these issues during his keynote speech at this year’s Masters & Robots. His talk will highlight how companies and organisations can take greater environmental responsibility while staying competitive. Carlo is a practitioner and expert in mobility and new technologies, with a particular focus on AI. His talks often emphasise green transport as a sector that is both vital to achieving climate neutrality and still relatively underdeveloped. He discussed this in detail on the Exponential Africa podcast.

In his view, electric vehicles are essentially mobile energy storage units with huge capacity. AI is key to unlocking this potential, enabling smart charging and vehicle-to-grid systems that can stabilise entire energy networks. It’s particularly important in countries with less reliable infrastructure.

Carlo also points to new business opportunities in green transport. One of the most profitable models, he argues, could be trading the energy stored in a car’s battery. By parking and connecting the vehicle to the grid, the owner could generate income, with AI managing the process on their behalf.
