BIO
Przemysław Gdański has been the CEO of BNP Paribas Bank Polska S.A. and the Territory Head for all BNP Paribas Group companies in Poland since November 1, 2017.
A graduate of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdańsk and a one-year program in international banking and finance at Loughborough University in the UK, he has completed a number of specialized managerial development programs at leading business schools worldwide, including IESE Business School (Advanced Management Program), Harvard Business School, London Business School, The Haas School of Business (University of California, Berkeley), Ashridge-Hult International Business School, HEC, Columbia Business School, and INSEAD.
With over 30 years of international banking experience, he has worked in both the largest banks in Poland and abroad, serving on the boards of Calyon (as CEO), BPH, Pekao SA, and mBank since 2006.
Since 2019, he has been a member of the Main Council of the Confederation of Lewiatan and a member of the Advisory Board of Digital University. Since 2021, he has been a member of the Program Board of UN Global Compact Network Poland. In the same year, he became a member of the Advisory Board of the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw and a partner in the prestigious international G100 Denim Club, an organization bringing together leaders supporting gender parity and equality. Since 2017, he has chaired the Board of the BNP Paribas Foundation.
In 2021, he was awarded the Visionary of the Market award at the IT@BANK conference. In 2019, he was awarded the title of The CEO of the Year by The Heart Warsaw and the title of Banking Manager of the Year 2018 by Gazeta Bankowa. In 2018, he received the Digital Shaper title from the Digital Poland Foundation for his outstanding contribution to digital transformation.
For many years, he has consistently patronized initiatives to promote diversity, gender equality, and support the activities of entrepreneurial women. In 2018, he received the special Male Champion of Change award from the Sukces Pisany Szminką Foundation.
A chess player with the title of FIDE Master, he was formerly a member of the Polish Junior National Team and a former president of the Polish Chess Federation.
