On April 7 in Warsaw, the winners of the Masters&Robots Awards 2025 were announced. Among the awardees were the creators of Bielik – the first Polish language model; Biovalley – developers of an innovative, biodegradable medical material that protects against infections; and Agro Contracts – responsible for creating a digital ecosystem for tracking food “from farm to table.” This year’s event took place under the patronage of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the President of Warsaw, and the Minister of Digitital Affairs, emphasizing the importance of innovation and modern solutions in building a competitive and secure Europe.
Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski, speaking at the Masters&Robots Awards 2025 gala held at the Creativity Center Targowa, highlighted that Poland has much to be proud of globally—from finance and digital transformation in healthcare to truly digital administration. However, he stressed that digitization must be inclusive, with the state obligated to level the playing field so no one is left behind. While Poland ranks among the European leaders in digitization thanks to investments and solutions like the Artificial Intelligence Fund, a significant skills gap still excludes some citizens from benefiting from modern services. The state’s role today is not only to foster innovation but primarily to ensure its universal accessibility.
Jowita Michalska, President of Digital University and organizer of the competition, noted that innovation is not about flashes and applause but about painstaking, years-long work often done at night without guaranteed success. Masters&Robots Awards were created to annually recognize those who boldly shape tomorrow through technology, innovation, and social responsibility, promoting an innovative Poland both domestically and internationally.
Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka, Undersecretary of State for European Affairs at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, emphasized that innovation is key to building competitiveness, which is the foundation of Europe’s security. She also pointed to the need for deregulation and active support for innovators, ideas central to the “We did it in Poland” campaign under the Polish EU Council Presidency.
The ceremony honored innovators whose solutions are already shaping the future of Poland and Europe, with awards given in seven categories:
